Landro Play Analyzer, Enterprise Edition
Landro is a new kind of device that has been sweeping the education and training world. Landro is the world's first play analyzer. Landro can access any of 100,000 digital video "plays" (short for playback segments) without rewinding or fast-forwarding. About the size of a small VCR, the Landro Play Analyzer allows clinicians, educators or instructors to digitally record students in their clinical sessions and then analyze those video recordings without ever using video tape… It’s like creating a Video PowerPoint on the fly.
See a short video overview of Landro play analyzer software.
Landro lets you find and watch any video “playback segment” you have recorded in less than a second – no more clumsy fast forwarding and rewinding. Now you can spend time analyzing performance instead of searching through videotapes and trying to log specifics.
Use Landro to record the activity you are observing, and mark the beginning and end of each video playback segment that’s important to you. Now jump from one play to another without ever rewinding or fast-forwarding again! study it over and over again, analyzing the problem in detail with Landro’s Instant Replay feature for a better learning experience.
Search by topic and find more video in 5 seconds than you can with a DVD or VCR in an hour.
Once
you have marked the beginning and end of a significant
video segment you have created what Landro calls
a “play” This is a specific segment of video that
will instanly playback when you press
the play button on the remote control. Once these
plays are marked, you can catalog and code them by any number of categories. For example, a category could be any particular technique or
behavior you want to study and analyze! Now you could
say, let me see all “part word stutters,” or a
certain aggressive behavior that occurred during
the recording of the session… Or how about let’s see all
of my video for the last 5 session for a certain
clinician. Now you can see how the student counselor
progressed from one week to another.
In
about 10 seconds you can catalog and classify techniques
or behaviors in each video play segment. Once
classified, you and your students can quickly and easily
move from example to example! Hundreds of play can be
searched in less than a second! You can save any
search you have done in the past… once save they become
what we call Themes.
The Landro can be used with any
teaching situation. Plays (play segments) can be
cataloged according to any number of categories. For
example, educators working with pre-service teachers
might be interested in identifying every
instance when the student teacher asked a question.
Or supervisors of pre-service speech-language
pathologists might want to identify every time a
client with a fluency disorder exhibited a prolongation,
part-word repetition, or whole-repetition.
Teaching tools are only useful if instructors can actually use them.
Research has proven that students remember a mere 3% the
day after they were taught using lecture and a
surprising 70% when lecture is combined with video,
pictures or other visuals. Until now, video as a
teaching tool has been inefficient and frustrating with
too much of the teacher’s time spent watching video in a
linear fashion instead of a thematic fashion. When
studied in a thematic fashion comprehension and
retentions goes way up.
Landro
lets teachers spend their time planning, reviewing
performance and discovering critical video support for
individual students or to present themes to the whole
classes. The Landro has been used in the training of
counselors and speech-language pathologists, allowing
these student practitioners the opportunity to
review their own clinical sessions, identifying
effective techniques and analyzing techniques that
require additional practice. Repetition is the mother of
skill.
Make a DVD of student highlights in just a few minutes.
During
each semester there are students who require just a
little more – they need to see or hear something again
before they can experience that “aha” moment. With the
Landro, any student can review a lecture, session or lab
again and again.
Any student can create a video tape
or DVD for his own review. Educators can easily stream
digital video to their classroom… Now using video in
the classroom is 100 TIMES FASTER THAN USING VIDEOTAPE.
