Theme Manager

The Theme Manager is where you manage your program, play, and analysis themes. Themes provide a user-definable way to organize, filter, and display your programs and plays. For instance, suppose, as an instructor, you regularly filter your program list to only display programs related to your class (let's say class 100). Additionally, you also group those programs by student. This, "Class 100 grouped by Student," is a theme: something you look for regularly. This set of filtering and grouping "instructions" can be saved, and quickly accessed in the future with a simple click.

What makes themes so powerful is that they are dynamic. In other words, a theme does not always return a fixed set of results. Since a theme is essentially just a set of rules, those rules will be applied to your current selection of programs or plays, dynamically.

Themes are used in several screens, including Program List, Play List, and Analysis Center.

Program Themes

A program theme is a set of filtering and grouping criteria that is applied to your list of programs. Program themes are available in the Program Theme window of the Program List screen.

Play Themes

Play themes are similar to Program Themes, except you are working with plays instead of programs. Play themes are available in the Play Themes window on the Play List screen, and in the Favorite Themes window in the Program List and Play List screens.

Analysis Themes

Analysis themes are on-screen interactive "reports" that show relationships and tendencies in your program and play properties (see Analysis Center). Analysis themes are available in the Favorite Themes window in the Program List and Play List screens, and in the Analysis Center.

Managing Your Themes

Themes are divided into three types: program themes, play themes, and analysis themes. To display a list of each type of theme, click the corresponding "Theme Type" tab at the top of the screen. The following tasks are available to manage your themes:

  • Add: Add a new theme.
  • Add Copy: Add a new theme, which is a copy of the currently selected theme.
  • Edit: Edit the currently selected theme.
  • Delete: Permanently delete the currently selected theme.
  • Favorite Theme: For play and analysis themes, you can additionally set the theme as one of your favorites by clicking the "Favorite" checkbox (see Favorite Themes).

Add / Edit Program Themes

When you are adding or editing a program theme, Landro takes you to the Program Theme Editor screen.

Program Theme Editor

From this screen you can:

  • Edit the theme name.
  • Set the filter criterion by clicking open one or more program property dropdown lists, and selecting the property value.
  • Set how you would like the programs to be grouped, by clicking open the "Group By" dropdown list and selecting a program property.

In the above example, we have decided to filter out all the programs except for "Class 200," and then group the results by "Clinician."

TipTip: To see different sets of properties, click open the "View" dropdown box and select a different view (see Playbook).

Add / Edit Play Themes

Editing a play theme is exactly like editing a program theme, except you are setting a filter for play properties instead of program properties. Additionally, you can set the theme as a favorite by clicking the "Favorite Theme" checkbox.

Add / Edit Analysis Themes

When you are adding or editing an analysis theme, Landro takes you to the Analysis Theme Editor screen.

Analysis Theme Editor

From this screen you can:

  • Edit the theme name.
  • Select the theme type by clicking open the "Type" dropdown box and selecting a type.
  • Set the analysis criterion by clicking open the property dropdown lists, and selecting the property value. Note that you can select either program or play properties.

In the above example, we have created a "Play Grid" theme where we will compare the relationship between "Basic Counseling Skill" and "Clinician."

TipTip: To see different sets of properties, click open the "View" dropdown box and select a different view (see Playbook).

Theme Groups

Themes can be organized into groups, and shared between users. By default, the Theme Manager displays, and allows you to manage themes in the "My Themes" group. This is a group of themes that is available only to you (private), based on your Landro login. Additionally, you can have one or more groups of themes that are available to all users (public). To select a different Theme Group, click open the "Theme Group" dropdown box, and select a theme group.

TipTip: To manage your theme groups, click the "Configure List" button on the theme group dropdown list.
