Landro User's Guide
Landro Enterprise Edition Support |
Live AnalysisLive Analysis allows you to view live (real-time) video from your cameras and session rooms. You can think of the Live Analysis system as a series of TV channels, always available for you to "tune in" and watch what's showing. In the same way, Landro Live Analysis allows you to "tune in" to any camera or session room and see what's happening, live, in that room. Additionally, you can start and stop recordings, view other recording in progress, and mark play segments in a recording in progress. Landro displays video on your PC in near real time. In any digital video system, there is a delay (latency) between the time when something actually happens, and when you see it on your computer screen. Unlike other digital systems, Landro minimizes this delay to only 2-3 seconds. However, even this short delay must be taken into consideration, for example, when using camera control.
View WindowsA view window is where the live video from one of your cameras or session rooms is displayed. Live Analysis allows you to have up to four view windows open at the same time. By doing this, you can watch live video from four different sessions rooms at once. To open a view window, click open the "Add View Window" dropdown list. Select the session room you wish to view. The new window is opened. When working with view windows, keep the following important points in mind:
In either case, the view window title will change to indicate the reason.
Active ViewAlthough multiple view windows can be open at the same time, there is only one "active" view. The active view is different from the other views in that:
To make a view the active view, simply click on the desired view window. The active view is displayed slightly larger, and also displays the recording controls.
Arranging Your ViewsView windows can be arranged in one of two layouts to suit your preference. Tile Mode:Views are arranged in a regularly spaced grid, or 'tiled'.
Preview Mode:Views are arranged so that the active view occupies most of the screen, and the other views are displayed as small "preview" windows. In preview mode, clicking on a preview window will cause it to "trade places" with the active view.
Starting a RecordingTo start a recording, click the red "record" button in the active view. Landro takes you to the "New Recording" screen.
Enter the recording properties, including the program name and the length of the recording. Enter the program properties (optional). Click the "Start Recording" button to begin the recording. You will return to the Live Analysis screen. The title on the view window will indicate that it is now recording. Additionally, a "Set" button now appears at the bottom, next to the "Record" button, allowing you to mark play segments. Note: Not all users have the ability to start and stop recordings. Creating Play SegmentsWhen viewing a recording in progress, you can also create play segments. If you are watching the session as it is recorded you may wish to mark important sections of the video, for further breakdown later. Simply click the "Set" button to mark the start of the play. The button changes to an "End" button; click the "End" button to mark the end of the play. Of course, you are watching live video rather than a playback, so you can't pause or back up to mark your play segments. But after the recording is complete, you can always adjust the play segment beginning and end points in the Breakdown screen. Stopping a RecordingTo stop a recording, click the red record button in the active view. Confirm that you wish to stop the recording. Landro returns to viewing the session. The "Set" button is no longer present at the bottom. Camera ControlIf your Landro system is configured with camera control capabilities, you can control your camera's pan, tilt, and zoom functions, in real time, right from the Live Analysis view windows. This requires both a special camera control option in your Landro system, and supported cameras with these abilities; check with your Landro administrator for whether your cameras (or which ones) can be controlled remotely. To control the camera, select a view as the active one. You can do any of these controls:
Note: as explained at the beginning of this chapter, there is a 2-3 second delay between controlling the camera, and seeing the results on your screen. This is a normal effect of digital video, and not a problem with your system. Camera PresetsOnce you position your camera's pan, tilt, and zoom settings, you can save them to be recalled at a later time. This allows you to have different standard camera settings, for different session sizes (for example). This is called a camera "preset." To create a camera preset, right-click in the active view window. Click "Save Preset" from the popup menu. Select an existing preset to overwrite, or enter the name of the new preset, and click "Save."
To move the camera to an existing preset, right-click in the active view window. Click the preset name in the popup menu. Video SplitterA video splitter allows you to have multiple cameras recorded into the same program. A video splitter effectively "splits" the screen in half, allowing you to see one camera view in one half of the screen, and another camera view in the other half. If your Landro system was configured with a video splitter, it can be controlled right from the Live Analysis view window. To control the video splitter, right-click in the active view window. Click "Splitter" from the popup menu. Click the desired splitter layout from the splitter sub menu. |
